I am sad to report that Doreen Valiente, often called the Mother of Modern Witchcraft, has taken leave of this realm - at least for the time being. She made the passage to the Summerlands yesterday morning. While her spirit lives on in all of us who's lives she has touched through her work in emergence of Wicca as a fully-fledged religion, we will miss her wisdom and presence. Please see the Children of Artemis website for more on this remarkable woman.
